What inspired you to start modelling? My first shoot was back in 2010, I was approached to do a test shoot and thought, why not! I’d never been in front of a camera before, and after my first shoot I knew straight away it was something I wanted to pursue. I love being creative, and modelling the past few years has led me to working with so many talented photographers and designers!

Was it a natural progression into the more alternative side of things? Because I have tattoos and piercings, I guess I automatically fit the alternative modelling world. I’ve always considered myself as someone who doesn’t fit the ‘norm’ so to speak! I like to express my personality through my appearance, hence the vibrant hair and tattoos. Continue reading

For those that haven’t heard of Dollydripp before, can you give us a quick introduction to you and the company?

Dollydripp is an indie fashion label selling clothing, accessories and homewares that are heavily influenced by alternative fashion, tattoos, retro and vintage styles with a modern twist, created by me, Sarah Louise Richards. I was working as a high street designer before starting the business but really I wanted to be creating garments that were a bit more unique, individual and not mass-produced. I’ve always believed that alternative fashion can be feminine and girly. Alternative girls like getting dressed up as much as the next girl, we don’t always live in band t-shirts and skinny jeans! For whatever reason, one day I attempted to cut in Bettie Bangs (badly but attempted nonetheless), and bought myself a high waisted skirt. Slowly but surely my life changed forever…

EXPOSED: Efflectum

Photographer and concept design - Mark Perry
MUA - Alice Bizarre Make up

Name: My real name is Emma, but I model under the name Efflectum, which means to obliterate and destroy.

Location: I move about a bit, originally born and bred in Essex, and no I’m not that kind of Essex girl :P . Now I’m currently reside in Kingston upon Thames, as it’s close to were I work (Old London Road Tattoos) It’s also close to London for gigs and such.

What inspired you to take up modelling? Originally it was because I was told I couldn’t. But after that I just really enjoyed working with other people. Photographers, MUA’s other models and clothing designers. I get a buzz from shooting. I really love it! I love seeing a bizarre idea come to life and really work. I also have a sense of adventure and like hunting out cool locations to shoot in. I’m not your typical model. I have scaled walls, broken into abandoned buildings and done all kinds of strange things to get the image needed. Continue reading
