Bo Carter

The fact that I only met designer Bo Carter at the end of last Summer seems somewhat surreal, considering how much she has been involved in my adventures. Immediately, I fell in love with the shape of her hand made silky textured shirts. When we were introduced at her old store in Birds Yard, I borrowed a few ‘empty Tori’ pieces for a shoot with the girls, teaming them with some long floaty pastel coloured skirts. Only a few months after, Bo was awarded ‘Best Designer’ at Leeds retail awards, and showed a collection at our Vau Vau Fashion Show in January; the Betsey girls danced up and down the runway in her bright a-line mini skirts.

I was having a peek on our sponsor’s website, the wonderful stockist of independent designers fashionpony.co.uk when I spotted two new silk shirts from Bo’s latest collection. With a cute skull and crown motif, subtly puffed shoulders and a bow to tie at the front, they came in black on white, and white on black.

I borrowed two.
I shot two.
I bought them both.
