Name: Poppy Thorn | Location: Worthing, West Sussex
What inspired you to take up modelling? I have always enjoyed creating art, and modeling for me was another outlet to express this passion.
What are your favourite styles/themes to shoot? I love shooting Pin up styles I think that it very elegant, classy and a breath of fresh air. I also really enjoy modeling latex, it feels so good on your skin and looks awesome in photos when shined to the max.
How would you describe your own personal style? From day one I always wanted to have my own style and this for me was the modern pin up look. I will take elements of the pin up style and mix it with something very modern, for example fetish shoes or multicoloured make up.
Are there any makeup/beauty products that you can’t live without? Yes I wouldn’t ever be without my Mac studio fix foundation. I swear by it, it covers imperfections so well. I also love my bright red lipstick, which I wear daily.
What makes you different to all the other models in the industry today? I think my mix of pin up themes in my fetish work help me to achieve that girl next-door look. I think I also communicate a lot through my eyes and facial expressions. I don’t have the perfect figure, I have big hips and a big bum and I’m 5’4, but I wouldn’t change a thing because I think it is refreshing to have a figure, which isn’t what people assume a model should have.
Are there any designers/photographers/other models that you would love to collaborate with one day? Thousands but to name a few I would say: Lithium Picnic, Andy Silvers, 666 Photography, Violet Eyes, Ruby True, Prong Jewelry, Doll Chops Clothing, Attitude Clothing.
Where do you hope to be in 5 years? To be honest I have been very lucky and couldn’t imagine getting further then I have got but if I was to progress I would love to be walking in more latex catwalks and have a few more covers under my belt but I am quite content.
