Volume: Silhouette of a Ghost

Hardcore/progressive metallers Silhouette of a Ghost are currently buzzing on the unsigned scene, & rightfully so! Having already shared stages with annotations of an autopsy, while she sleeps & monuments to name a few, These guys won’t be turning into silhouettes anytime soon…How did Silhouette of a Ghost begin?
Says guitarist/vocalist Jake Tellinghusen: Silhouette of a Ghost begun after I moved to the UK from the states. The first goal for me was to get a group of musicians together with similar interests…that was 3 years ago, seems like forever!

Which bands would you consider to be most influential on your sound?
The most influential bands on our sound would have to be bands like Parkway Drive and As I Lay Dying in the 2005 days. However these days we draw influences from a wide range of styles outside of metal and fuse them all together. My personal favourites are Tool and Misery Signals.

What would you say is the best and worst things are about being in a band?
The best thing about being in a band is having a group of people that you know are going through the same shit on a day in day out basis. We are all in the same boat, broke trying to get our music out there, there’s nothing you can hide from each other and the realism of friendship or more of brotherhood you can’t find anywhere else. The down side is spending too much time together and wanting to strangle each other sometimes!

Who would be your dream band to tour with?
Dream band to tour with, probably Parkway Drive. They seem to have the best tours and a lot of fun/chaos in the process. I’d love to go surfing with those dudes as well!
